The Hardworking Society Behind Japan’s Global Success

Country of the rising sun and one of the TOP countries in the world, not just technically but also economically. This all is possible thanks to the Japanese hardworking society that for decades has dedicated their life to work. Japanese society as a mass is also one of the strongest societies in the world.

The High Expectations and Pressure on Japan’s Workers

They are loyal, quick to learn new skills, and willing to do anything to finish their tasks on time with the best possible result. That all brings high expectations and pressure on each one of the workers.

The High Cost of Discipline in Japan’s Workforce

The advantage of Japan’s society is that workers are good at cooperation and follow social norms. On the other hand, this pressure and demand for discipline is forcing workers to fit in, at all costs and to push back their uniqueness and their personal goals.

Personal Sacrifice of Japan’s Workforce

Also due to a limited number of working spots and a large population, Japanese workers are under more pressure to work the best they can to hold their spot at all costs. Which results in overworking, mental problems, no personal life, and losing track of themselves.

From Group Strength to Individual Challenge

On the other hand there you have one individual worker coming from this cooperative and hardworking society with high pressure. Although they are strong as a group one individual who is used to this kind of system might be mostly passive and in need of leadership.
